The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is a mutual favorite among the Monos Coffee owners. A light roast, bright coffee produced by Hirut Berhanu, (who employs 290+ workers, 95% of them women.)
Coffee is the primary industry in Dumerso where this bean was grown, with more than 90% of the people in the region involved in the coffee industry. Coffee sends their kids to school and pays for their medications and food. To these farmers, coffee is everything, therefore it receives the best care and attention.
We love the soft yet tangy flavors that come across in this variety, and recommend a chemex or pour over brew to bring out the best flavors. (But any filter brew is great!)
We taste citrus, floral and jasmine.
